Indian Army TGC 142 Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for Technical Graduate Course (January 2026 Batch)

The Indian Army has officially released the notification for the 142nd Technical Graduate Course (TGC-142), scheduled to commence in January 2026 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. This recruitment drive invites applications from eligible unmarried male engineering graduates for a Permanent Commission in the Indian Army.

🧑‍🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India, or

  • A subject of Nepal, or

  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Such candidates must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Gorkha subjects of Nepal, however, do not require this certificate.

Marital Status

  • Only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

  • Candidates must not marry until they complete their full training at IMA.

  • Marrying during training or after application submission (if successful) will lead to discharge or cancellation of candidature

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be between 20 to 27 years as on 01 January 2026.

  • Date of birth should be between 02 January 1999 and 01 January 2006 (both dates inclusive).

  • The date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate will be considered final.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or be in the final year of the Engineering Degree course.

  • Final year candidates must be able to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with marksheets of all semesters/years by 01 January 2026.

  • The Engineering Degree must be in one of the notified streams.

  • Candidates whose final year/semester exams are scheduled after 01 January 2026 are NOT eligible.

  • A minimum cumulative percentage of marks up to the final semester/year must meet the approved cut-off percentage, which will be fixed after shortlisting.

💼 Salary & Benefits

Upon commissioning, selected candidates will be entitled to a range of benefits and a competitive pay scale as per the 7th Pay Commission.

  • Rank: Lieutenant

  • Pay Level: Level 10

  • Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500

  • Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month

  • Other Benefits: Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, Field Area Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, and other admissible allowances as per rules.

📝 Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Based on the cut-off percentage decided by the Integrated HQ of MoD (Army).

  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB interviews at selection centers located in Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab).

  3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination.

  4. Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB interview.
